Home Page » Things to do in Krakow » Holiday in Krakow? Why not!

Are you planning to spend your holiday in Krakow? No matter whether it is Your first visit or tenth, You should carefully plan your trip, so that you can enjoy your days-off without hysterical wondering what to do or see. And believe us – in Krakow, there is plenty things to do or see, adjustable for everyone!

Holiday in Krakow

Krakow Old Town

During Your Krakow Holiday, You can start sightseeing from the Main Market Square, the most beautiful and the largest medieval square in Europe. It is always full of tourists from all over the world, street musicians, mimes and performers. Two of the most recognizable symbols of the city – the Cloth Hall with Polish Paintings Gallery inside and St. Mary’s Church, gothic temple with its famous main altar of Assumption of Virgin Mary by Veit Stoss. The trumpet call is played every hour from the highest tower of the St. Mary’s Basilica. Under the Market Square, there is a fantastic museum with a permanent exhibition: Following the traces of European identity of Krakow, so we can know better history of the city and go back several centuries to the Middle Ages. Walking through the Royal Route (do not forget to visit University Quarter with medieval Collegium Maius and Baroque St. Anne’s Church) You will go across the Grodzka and Kanonicza streets. You will see beautiful Baroque Church of St. Peter and Paul. Some of the town houses has Reneissance or even Gothic  decorations. Finally, You will reach Wawel Hill with delightful Royal Castle and Royal Cathedral, Dragon’s Den and the Dragon’s statute bursting with fire. Unique climate, artistic aura and a large dose of magic! (guided tour through Wawel Hill is available at: https://luab.org/en/wawel-hill/

Holiday in Krakow Kazimierz

Kazimierz and Podgorze

The next obligatory stop is Kazimierz district. There are two astonishing Gothic churches and numerous synagogues (Jewish legacy in Krakow is truly amazing). Cozy pubs are meeting places for both locals and visitors (do not forget about tasting the famous Kazimierz casserole in Plac Nowy. For automotive fans we recommend the Museum of Urban Engineering where You can admire some unique examples of Polish vehicle industry such as beautiful old trams.

Podgorze and Zabłocie districts are also worth seeing because of the famous Oscar Schindler’s “Enamel” Factory and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCAK).

Do You like walking?

Krakow is a city for walking lovers. In the very heart of it, You can walk around the Planty Park or along the Vistula riverbank. What is more, Blonia (a huge maedow in the city centre!) and Henryk Jordan’s Park are ideal for a family picnic or roller blading. It is impossible not to mention Zakrzowek artificial lake and Rocks of Twardowski in Ruczaj district as well as Wolski Forest.

Active holiday in Krakow? No problem!

There are many places in Krakow suitable for people who want to spend some time in more active way. First of all let me present one of Europe’s largest indoor aqua parks, providing many solutions for both children and adults. Moreover, in the city of Polish Kings we can try climbing walls, rope parks, squash clubs, or much more popular, so-called escape room s – a great form of entertainment for teenagers and adults, families and friends.
